North Wilkesboro Speedway is a historic, 0.625-mile paved oval short track in North Wilkesboro, North Carolina. The track was a big part of the early years and growth of  NASCAR.  It was also one of the south's original Modified mainstays.  Sadly, the track closed in 1996. After years of sitting dormant, Speedway Motorsports resurrected the legendary oval and it now stands strong as a testament to the passion of auto racing's faithful and is a beacon to the history of the sport.  NASCAR has returned, first with the All Star Race and now in 2026 with a points paying race for the NASCAR Cup Series. 

The Modifieds brought North WIlkesboro back in its second life and continue to play a strong role in the fabric of the speedway. From Red Byron to Ryan Newman, the Mod Squad's involvement at North WIlkesboro has been a constant. 

The SMART Modified Tour powered by Pace-O-Matic has competed 14-times at North Wilkesboro.

The SMART Modified Tour powered by Pace-O-Matic and the zMAX CARS Tour is paired up for a huge-ticket for racing fans!  Three Championships will be decided in one day at the legendary North Wilkesboro Speedway on Saturday October 18, 2025. 

The historic day includes the finale races for the 2025 season for the SMART Mod Tour, CARS Tour Late Model Stocks and CARS Tour Pro Late Models.

The best finishers of the SMART3 (The three Championship eligible drivers on the SMART Tour) will race with a mighty field of ground-pounders to decide who will get the title trophy.  The best finish of the SMART3 is the Champion in the winner-take-all format.
